“AI and the Future of Society: A Global Approach to Understanding the Digital Disruption”

JFIT is holding a two-day conference of its new research program on the Digital Disruption and the Future of Society. Our goal is to analyze the ongoing changes associated with AI, IOT, industry 4.0 and society 5.0, with a focus on the social science perspective and the global comparison. The conference will bring together scholars and practitioners from the U.S., Germany and Japan, to discuss the role of global social science research in the ongoing discourse on the future of production, business, work and regulation. The conference is held in cooperation between the Max Planck Institute for Innovation and Competition, the German Institute for Japan Studies and the University of Konstanz.

It is co-sponsored by the GPS Japan Forum for Innovation and Technology and Center on Global Transformation, UC San Diego Institute for Practical Ethics, TKCV Partnership, Nippon Institute for Research Advancement (NIRA) and the Japan Society for the Promotion of Science.

The event will take place at School of Global Policy and Strategy Room 3106 (map). Closest parking will be at the Pangea Parking Structure. Permits must be purchased at the top level.
